Should we use torrents?!

everybody has their own opinion on this, but i think ranrav hit the nail on the head here.

I think something that's been missed is that for most people leeching off the files, they simply wouldn't buy clips anyway, for varying reasons. The clips stores are not losing money from these people, they're just having people who haven't paid watching their clips. Which grates of course, I do get that, but just as bigdawg is being selfish spreading good clips over three sites (meaning you have to spend $105 a month or so to get all of them, unless there's some multi-membership deal, and even then it's very expensive), I'm going to have to be a little selfish and say that I'd like to see those clips shared from time to time.

If it was the case that most clips being made by most producers were being made available for free, then that would lead to the end of things, or at least a step backwards as they'd likely stop bothering. But if some clips are being made available (as has been the case for plenty of time, to no fanfare) then that doesn't seem to be much of a problem. The people who want the newest and the best clips end up buying them, and those who don't want to have to wait for dribs and drabs to become available.

There's no point banning torrents from here in principle. As has already been made plain above, the people sharing will share anyway, and those links will pop up elsewhere, and people will end up going there instead of here. Why split people apart in this way? Surely better to allow torrents here and moderate them, because then even if those posting unnecessary torrents post them elsewhere, the rest of the community here will be less likely to follow them to that elsewhere place.

Voting to ban torrents is just voting to make this into a problem.

the way i figure it, the webmasters have always had the option of checking this board and doing the work to have the uploading sites take down their vids and they are rewarded for actually keeping track of what's going on in the other parts of the community while simultaneously keeping the users of the board safe due to us not actually hosting the content. going to torrents puts the users in danger, goes around webmasters and no longer gives them any incentive to contribute to the community, and would sort of shrink the active portion of this community. yapyep (i believe) said that it would turn the "reup" posts into "seed" posts and it would make the clips much more short lived. if you want to seed 50 different torrents 24 hours a day then more power to you, but the majority of the board WON'T and shouldn't be expected to. uploading to a site takes an hour; seeding takes days. i vote that torrents are fine for large videos (in the gbs) and old archives, but are not fair to use for newer clips.

I think we all agree that old files and large files bigger then 200mb's should be torrent if nescceary and so on but i think we get the drill *will the court stand* Do we all agree to abide by these rules?

I know I used to upload mislabeled videos to Kazaa back in the day for a joke, I dont doubt others would do the same with torrents.

Anyone with common sense wouldn't download that file anyway. Just by the name, and the filesize I am sure most people here would just pass over it. You could also do the same with any file hosting website, it hasn't happened yet, so why should it happen now?

Anyway, we pretty much share the same opinion about torrents, so hopefully things can start going back to normal.

Torrents is the future, no need for premium or anything.
I have a forum of sharing hosters and i have a torrent tracker also.
The tracker builded up as twice as large in members community in half the time then the sharing forum (like the present one we are now)
Maybe...evryone is entitled of his opinion...but numbers speek for themselves...

To come to the admins question now, i always wondered why the fart productions are so delicate....at the end of the day they are fetish productions
like scat, vomit etch (the fact we like farts more means nothing to the producers)
As for seeding fart productions...i would not bother to post 2-3 fart clips ever...its waste of time ( i ruther upload them to RS).
Torrents are for files over 300-400 mb.
Also let the numbers answer our questions: There were never so many fetish forums around, and at the same time so many producers....if that says anything to all of us....
Every week i discover another fetish forum, and another producer (either clips sites or members site)
Conclusion:
Competition does good to everyone......

Here are my two cents on the topic: torrents have their uses, but the majority of people do the same thing that they do on services such as Limewire or the Gnutella Network, which is leach. The download it and then don't make it available for others. I personally refuse to use torrents, as they do have tendencies to have trojans, false filenames, and more importantly, ridiculously slow downtimes. I know that there are a few reputable uploaders, but the problem is the lack of seeders.
My solution is as such: get a Premium account to Rapidshare, or Megaupload. I have a 15 megabit cable connection in which I can download a 700 megabyte file in a matter of minutes, not hours. A 60 megabyte file on rapidshare, for me, takes less than a minute to download. I realize that most people don't want to spend the money on anything, let alone a file hosting service. It doesn't matter if you put a torrent up of every fart clip you all own, because the majority of this community will much rather piss and moan about the download speed, than do something about it.

Amen in the end it's about the same because if we use torrents or just stick the same it'll be one or the other people asking for seeding or asking for a reup how about we all just have public meetings and exchange videos on external hard drives, o wait then people are gonna say *i missed the meeting can someone send me the videos* or *this video didn't send can you give me it again* DAM IT lets find a fool proof way =/ shit it's a paradox everything has a downside or someway for someone to complain

I agree in some matters about the availability (very rare).
You have to know the following about torrent communitys:
There are posters and there seeders.
me for example i never seed the titles i download, i just post new titles to keep my ratio way over 2,0.
On the other hand they are people they dont have content to share so they keep on seeding the titles they downloaded for days ( in our torrent language they work like seedbox accounts.)
Posters and seeders is what torrent trackers need.
Leechers is what they dont need...lol
I have enforced many ip blocks for dupe accounts, and other solutions to direct people to go the right way and have a good ratio.
At the end of the day balance is what is all about.
Take that place for example : Porn/fetish/fart
Even for that small subcategory of porn the need of balance is a must.
As for the speeds of the torrents, there are 3-4 factors that determinate that.
You can have a 1 gb title on your desktop in less than 30 mins...or in a week....
Actualy i think its the way you schedule your uploads and downloads (as we all belong to the freeshare comunity...also)

I for one can't use torrents my computor can not handel them and I would be left out of farts from this formus since i wouldn't be able to access them. I'd probally jsut leave Gassyerotica at that point then since I love coming to this formus since people allow access for everyone.
