Torrents are the way everyone on the net has been sharing files of all sizes for years. Also you should know that small torrents are by far the easiest way to share small files, and you share faster to boot with no "re upping" over and over.


No one would be so foolish to be posting to RS if they had any idea what they where doing.


One more point everyone needs to remember is I posted a 1GB (82 clip) torrent today that well over 500 people all over the net have gotten to watch in the last 10 hours.


Where do you think I got the 82 files?

Why have you people been the last to see them?

How much longer do you want to be the last people to see them?



The files are out there and people are watching them, so maybe the question is why aren't you watching them?

I say yes if the majority wants to use them but i could care less either way it goes. This torrent is soooo sloooooww seeeed!" if we were to switch over to torrents.Most people have problems with firewalls and portforwarding so they can't get the best speeds from torrents. It is only a choice between two evils. If you haven't noticed most of the people here leech and those torrents would soon be dead just like the filehosts. In some ways filehosting is better and some ways its not.Obviously you think what you're doing is better but torrents are not perfect either. Whether we use torrents or filehosting sites does not change what kind of forum this is.Also the people who make the content are not our friends but i am sure people don't care what the producers think about them because we are probably a grain of dirt in their asses as well. This forum will not die because it was fine without torrents and can continue without them. One good thing about torrents is they help to stop leeching. Because if you can't keep a good ratio the tracker will limit you, but if you learn to share you will see great speeds and the burden will be on the downloader not the uploader.

But as long as the uploader seeds to a 10 times ratio most torrents will be seeded well for weeks, some even years.

Nothing is perfect but people should be useing the tools to make the job work better.

I think torrents are alright for certin clips I think if we limit the torrenting to like X amount of times per day or X amount of times per week that would cut down on the impact. It's kinda like global warming once it starts you can't really stop it only slow it down or try to come up with a way to live around it =/

Torrents should only be used for a very large collection of files, and even than they should not be posted as frequently as other clips. I am going to stop sharing GGG clips because I believe that enough has been shared already. Torrents should definitely not be used for every little clip posted. But for large files, like FTC videos, a torrent would be a good idea. Looks like I opened a huge can of worms with this torrent idea. Did not think people would go so crazy with it.

I think this simply needs moderation (hence the moderators) to keep it from being counter-productive. Posting shedloads of GGG clips at once may end up being counter-productive in the long run (although he's gone on record as saying he's going to continue making the clips anyway, and his sites are, in my view, too expensive) but some every now and then won't harm anyone.

I think something that's been missed is that for most people leeching off the files, they simply wouldn't buy clips anyway, for varying reasons. The clips stores are not losing money from these people, they're just having people who haven't paid watching their clips. Which grates of course, I do get that, but just as bigdawg is being selfish spreading good clips over three sites (meaning you have to spend $105 a month or so to get all of them, unless there's some multi-membership deal, and even then it's very expensive), I'm going to have to be a little selfish and say that I'd like to see those clips shared from time to time.

If it was the case that most clips being made by most producers were being made available for free, then that would lead to the end of things, or at least a step backwards as they'd likely stop bothering. But if some clips are being made available (as has been the case for plenty of time, to no fanfare) then that doesn't seem to be much of a problem. The people who want the newest and the best clips end up buying them, and those who don't want to have to wait for dribs and drabs to become available.

There's no point banning torrents from here in principle. As has already been made plain above, the people sharing will share anyway, and those links will pop up elsewhere, and people will end up going there instead of here. Why split people apart in this way? Surely better to allow torrents here and moderate them, because then even if those posting unnecessary torrents post them elsewhere, the rest of the community here will be less likely to follow them to that elsewhere place.

Voting to ban torrents is just voting to make this into a problem.

First of all, why are you getting so defensive and secondly I wasn't directing anything at, you read my first post wrong aparently cause i was saying that we SHOULD LIMIT IT, then you startin gettin mad at me for nothin i didn't do shit and aparently you didn't read my other one very well because companies Advertise for new products and if there lossing buisness but that doesn't have jack shit to do with this cause they are largely public advertisers. My point being is we should keep down the torrenting of new shet maybe older stuff like re uploads or large fills like mfx movies and such *cause we all kno those videos are gigantic sometimes* anyway hope I didn't step on anyones toes cause i wasn't directing anything at anyone that and I don't feel like dealing with shit right now i got enough going on in my life don't need more Drama to kill me X.x
