One user in particular has set up www.cakefarts.com as a sort of 'shock' site to be sent.
While you could argue that any publicity is good publicity, this recent development has ensured that farting on cakes will be considered negatively from the Internet community for at least some time.

I don't mean to burst your bubble or anything but it seems to me like you're working REALLY hard to try to get your personal fetish accepted as that of a majority of the community, and I do not feel it is common enough to warrant all your hard work. While in this instance it has become semi-popular due to viral Internet circumstances, it is hard to deny that you alone have not been the sole propagator of its demand before.
p.s. In fact, as you seem to be a reasonably intelligent person, I would not be surprised if you were the one who caused this to go viral in the first place. Cake farts don't do it for me at all, but I can see why it does it for some people. I understand mostly because I have a fetish that I know most people would logically would not understand. I lived for most of my life (80's, 90's, and the first half of the 00's) not even knowing that one other person out there had the same feeling that I did. As was said before 1 there are not enough people out there with the fetish to make it mainstream. 2nd is that most of that small amount of are not willing to talk about it publicly.

If you do not view farting as sexual, it is hard to believe you have a genuine fetish for it and not just a personal agenda to fulfil. Then someone had a website called "www.cakefart.com. No, not the new one www.cakefarts.com, but an older one. It was registered somewhere in update NY but never got anyone to model for him. I am not sure if I am reading you right but I am not sure if you realize what the nature of a fetish is, this forum was developed out of necessity. There were a group of individuals with a common sexually deviation that is relatively uncommon in society. Most of the fart video that are made are made to fulfill fantasies that already exist. It's the job of the producers of the videos to find out what individuals want and possibly expand on it.. not to market them what the think they will want.... They are the ones that are basically trying to tap into the relatively untapped market of fart sniffers. So if you are in the marketing business, you will not get much further passed the people who originally fantasized about the whole cake thing. :)
My guess is that he'll misread your post and you'll regret having put the effort into writing that. Let's see, and if his response frustrates you my advice is to just ignore him from now on as he seems to thrive on getting a reaction.
