Help! Hijacked byS earch Engine

Does anyone know how to block a search engine from taking over your home page? There is this new search engine called searchnu that attached itself as my homepage and I want to get rid of it and restore my original homepage. Any technical assistance would be appreciated! Thank you so much!::sad
